My first ever DrupalCon, and what an experience!!

From it's conception on a cold January night in the offices of AF83, through to the announcement by Dries after the Paris 2009 drupal code sprint and then on to the conference itself, it was an awesome roller-coaster ride.
I was involved at several stages through the conception of the conference and then went on to work as a volunteer during the DrupalCon. If you really want to meet a lot of people and get close to the heart of Drupal then attending DrupalCons is invaluable.
